Climate Goals
  • Reducing HP’s greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 (compared to 2019) with the aim of achieving net zero emissions by 2040.
  • Targeting 75% circularity for products and packaging by 2030, currently at 40% by weight.

Carbon Emissions

Supply chain: HP’s 2022 carbon footprint of 26,899,500 tonnes of CO2e was 18% less than in 2019 .

Products and solutions: Achieved a 39% reduction in CO2e emissions intensity during product use by 2021, surpassing the 30% goal set for 2025, accounting for 31% of our efforts.

Operations: The global operations procured and generated 270,585 MWh of renewable electricity and attributes, equivalent to 55% of our global electricity consumption during 2022

HP Sustainable Impact
Circularity

Transforming to a circular business

Products: In 2022, they used 32,200 tonnes of post consumer recycled content plasticsin HP products-equivalant to 15% achieved.

Packaging: Achieved a 55% reduction in single-use plastic in packaging since 2018, compared to a 19% reduction in 2020.

Reuse and recycling: Reused or recycled 879,100 tonnes of hardware and supplies since 2016. Target is 1.2 million by 2025.

HP sustainability_Forest
Conserving and Restoring Forests

Since 2020, all HP brand paper and paper-based packaging for home and office printers and supplies,  PCs, and displays have been derived from recycled or certified sources.

35,633 acres of forest restored or responsibly managed.

US$80M has been pledged to support WWF to address the potential impacts on forests from printing with HP printers.
